22 gauge wire with KISS 18AMP ESCs?

Hi all,

I am making a wiring harness right now, and I was wondering if you guys think it would be advisable to use 22 gauge wire with the KISS 18AMP ESCs powering 2204 motors and 6x4.5 props on a 4S battery. I looked at a bunch of ampacity charts, but none are really designed for short wire runs. The longest wire would be about 4 inches. Any way, nay thoughts?

I was a little nervous going with 20 on my hex yesterday. But that's what I used on my friends warp with 2204'sand 6x4.5's on 3S so I figured it's safe. 22 would probably be pushing it at 4s, I'd probably be a bit nervous at 20 on 4s.

For short runs on 4s I don't go thinner than 18 when going to the motor and 14 going to the battery. Remember, it's more than just what the wire will handle. You also need to take into consideration the voltage drop you may get with under sized wire which in turn means loss of performance. Don't strangle your setup by going undersized with wire.
