I had a 2212 and a 8x6 prop on 4s, never ran full throttle because I only had a 30a esc on there.

I am now running what I believe is a 2814 with a 7x8 prop and an 80a esc on 4s

I have switched to a 2815 2700kv motor, 80a esc, And a 6 inch prop, If I feel like it can handle more prop, I'll switch to the 7x8.

Indeed! Even my 6x6 felt underpowered.... 7x4 or 8x4 is the deal for this design!

Scaling down is generally not a good idea for me... The smaller control surfaces seem to be less reactive, so if you really need to scale down try to at least scale up the control surfaces or increase throws perhaps??

Actually, that was not the problem, it was VERY twitchy in the roll axis, and roll rate was INSANE! Over twice as fast as the normal speedwing (which was already ridiculously fast)

Then again, I did scale it down 60%, I think 80-85% would fly pretty well.

Yeah, 60% is too small to use the 400-750W setups I have, hence why torque roll is my worse enemy sometimes when I tend to scale down beyond 85%

Hmm, the problem is that they run on different power systems. The fastest I ever got this to fly was 72 mph on a power pack B motor, 7x8 prop, on 4s.
