So if you are searching for landing gear designs here and are coming up empty this might help.
This was the simplest way I could think of, but if you are not comfortable using heat, you may have to adapt your bending style to match your skill set or tools.
First, buy a 36" length of 1/8" wire rod from the hobby store or hardware store.
Second, get some 1/8" wheel/axle collars. (pics below)
Third, find the center of the wire rod (18") and make a mark with a sharpy.
Fourth, wrap that mark in a piece of tape and then remark on the tape with something a bit sharper than a marker, I used a fine tipped pen.
Fifth, using the diagram below, mark the following measurements on the rod, again, I use tape and a fine tipped pen. I also pull all the numbers from the center and work my way to the end of the rod.
I used heavy duty linesman pliers to gently put score lines through the tape and onto the rod, do not try to cut the rod, you just want to make a mark you will be able to see later.
Sixth, remove the tape, you should see the score marks you made.
Seventh, this is the part you have to work within your skill set. I use a turbo torch pretty much everyday so for me, this is normal stuff, watch the video to see how it works.
There are a two steps here, 1st is the dihedral angle, 2nd are a series of 90 degree bends.
You can do this on a bench vice and not use heat, you just want to get really tight bends.
Check it out and see if this helps, I am pretty sure this can be adapted for lots of planes, and the corsair is the next set I will make and maybe post that to
The video below shows the second set of gear, the first set I borked and didn't realize it until I went to put the gear cover on and had to face palm..... that's the version shown on the assembled pic ... sad face
