Quadrotor Target Practice at the Driving Range

The thing I love the most about my Anycopter quad is how cheap and easy it is to rebuild. Instead of having to be careful, I- well, you get the idea. I reversed the camera tray (so the Mobius is on the back), and I asked the fellows at the local driving range today if we could all use it for target practice.

Their eyes lit up, and they even promised to give me a ride in the armored cart to go get it if (when?) it got hit.

There were three glancing blows (we even heard a 'snik!' on the propeller) until the clean, hard hit at 0:56 knocked a motor clean off. The 10' fall cracked a wooden boom, and it's back up and flying with about seventy-nine cents' worth of parts.

It occurred to me later that hitting the LiPo that hard might have been a little bit more dramatic, so I think I'll move on to breaking my quad in _different_ ways than this :)
