RC Speed Records

Does anyone know anywhere do find official sources for RC speed records?

I used to read a lot into world speed records, and since I'm now into RC in a big way, I thought I may have a crack at putting the two together and building some fast models. Before anyone says anything, no I'm not going to immediately try (and fail) to brake a record - apart from braking the record for the biggest crash maybe haha.

I'm also quite interested in the possibility of building some kind of RC boat with plane components, like an EDF, to try and go really fast up and down a local lake near me. This may be a bit off topic of RC planes, but hey, I would be using RC plane components! Something a long the lines of Donald Campbell's legendary Bluebird K7:

Here is my speed plane called 'White Light'. I have since shortened the wing tips and put in a huge, awesome motor.

Anyone else into building speed machines? Post your pics!

In the USA, both NAMBA and IMPBA keep a list of model boat record holders. I'm not sure who the sanctioning body would be for you over in the UK.

I believe this is the current 'fastest pass' on the water..... 142.9 mph....it's a 10 cell electric hydro.

FYI, you can only set an official IMPBA or NAMBA 'record' at an official record trials event. You could test till your heart's content on your own water, but you have to take it to the trials to actually set/claim a record.

NOTE: If I'm not mistaken, the fastest RC vehicle (airplane, boat, car, etc) is currently a sailplane....and yes, it has NO MOTOR or ENGINE. I believe they have recorded speeds in excess of 500mph using a technique called 'dynamic soaring'. Google that phrase for some fun reading/viewing.
