If you are asking me, I use GarageBand to record and edit my audio.
I really want to get into FPV too, but as you pointed out, it is very expensive. Especially for a tight student budget. I am using my brother's GoPro, but would like an FPV setup so that I can line up shots and see what I am getting. Follow planes, bikes, etc.
