Tricopter V3 Gimbal Mount

Hello,

I am going to be building my first tricopter, and I am building it for filming. I will be 3d Printing the frame with the files on RCExpolorer.se, but I will be doing some slight modifications. I am considering ditching the battery and camera mounting tray that is held on by piano wire and want to create holes in the fame so I can mount this gimbal with screws: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DJI-Phantom...ra-Gimbal-w-Motors-Controller-S-/281280053608 to the bottom of the frame, as well as the battery with a strap or velcro. However, I have a few questions about how I would connect the gimbal to the quad so it will be powered. I will be using a Hitech Optima 9 Receiver, so I am not sure it will work. Has anyone tried doing this before? Thanks!

If your gimbal is powered by 12v and you are running 3 cell lipos then you can just make a breakout cable that has an extra set of wires from your battery to the connector you need for the gimbal (aka JST connector)
