I just wanted to know if anyone has built the sea angel in 3 channels, and if it worked well or not. Thanks!

Plans say it can be built as a 3 or 4 channel, I would probably go ailerons and elevator if I was going 3 channel
I’ve built 2. My first one was a 3 channel with rudder, elevator, and throttle. It flew just fine like that. My second one is a 4 channel, which also flies great.

does the sea angel and the otter fly fairly similarly? i like the pushers... and want a 4ch or 3ch float trainer for when we go and visit my grandparents...
or i just throw some floats on the 170% commuter......

You could size up the cub floats to 170% and add them where you would add them to the cub.

hmm yea... i would just use the stock ones as the cub and the 170%mm commuyter are practically the same size.. or i would just scale up to 120%
I haven’t flown the sea otter yet so I can’t really say.

Would it be a decent 1st seaplane? As 4ch or 3ch
I would recommend it. It was one of my “successful” first planes, I started with the speedster, then built the scout (4ch) then soon after built the sea Angel. I would take the scout and sea Angel out together very often.
