95% of my soldering jobs are in connection with my RC plane builds and shock horror, my soldering iron died the other day.

all depends on the soldering iron. If it's one of the cheap Harbor Freight soldering irons, NO. Emphatically NO. Those things are garbage to begin with.

If it's my Hakko FX-888D, most definitely I will repair it. :)
