just thought I would share my results from some range testing I did this morning with my turnigy 9X with FrSky module. quite happy with the results! (it was in range test mode, so all distances have been multiplied by 30).
test 1:
RX: frsky V8FR-II HV with dipole(?) antennas at 90° angle to eachother 3ft off the ground. TX: frsky DGT JR module in turnigy 9x with standard 2db rubber duck antenna 3ft off the ground. RANGE: 9750ft or 1.847mile or 2.97km.
test 2:
RX: same as above. TX: same, but with 5db antenna. RANGE: 13500ft or 2.55mile or 4.11km.
I could easily have gone MUCH further if I held the tx higher.
