FT Cruiser repair... (Pic heavy)

I bought a Cruiser speed build kit earlier this year and have had some fun with it. One evening I thought: "I'll just pop out for a quick fly" and managed to park it in a hedge after attempting a go-around when it floated a bit too far... :black_eyed:

Here's the rebuild...

The starting point... a rather mangled FT Cruiser, I'd removed the tail plane (it was totalled) and then proceeded to remove the parts of the fuse that were still intact but damaged or twisted.

Cut back to fresh foam board...

Next up, some home-made tiled plans (you can get snap shots of the full size plans and then tile them your self)

And then build new sections and parts to replace those that were damaged.

Previously I had mad a new tailplane but on inspection of the fuse around the wing root, its was clear I needed more new parts... I ended up building the fuse a'new up to the leading edge and then cutting the new foam back to make a joint with the old...

Lots of doublers to reinforce the joints...

New tailplane attached via doublers and butt joints attached...

More doublers... attached to both the wing and the new tailplane.
