Futaba 72mhz to 2.4 ghz conversion.

That module should work just fine. Depending on what his aircraft is, he might want to look at some of the other FrSky receivers available - the D8R-II Plus is rather big and heavy compared to something like a D4R-II.

Thank you

Thanks for the quick reply "Ace". His plane is a 4 channel P-51 so he won't "need" 8 channels so I'll run both by him.
Thanks again.

Just make sure to not get the X4R, XSR or L9R receivers - they are not compatible with the module. Any of the D series or V series receivers will work fine, as will the X6R or X8R receivers. My recommendation for your friend's aircraft would be the D4R-II - it's light and reliable.

Good point about compatibility.

The D4R-II is limited to only four PWM channels and has features that may not be so useful here. It's good if you only need four channels but shines for multi-rotors.

The 6CH D6FR is good choice for basic plane set up. It about the same size as the D4R-II and gives you 6 PWM channels which might transfer to the next plane better.

And the non-telemetry 4CH park flyer (ie shorter range) V8R4-II is smaller and a bit cheaper. Might want to hot glue the antenna to start with since they are apparently prone to coming off.
