Gluing Assistant and 90 degree angles

Some time ago I came up with a Gluing Assistant to make joints tight and at 90°. I cut some standard 2 x 4s into various length pieces and removed the rounded edge so it had a 90° edge. I use this to make sure my folds are at 90°. It also helps to apply even pressure when folding wings, or other large pieces. The 2 x 4s are in 12", 18", 36", and 48" lengths. The actual lengths are not really important, I just picked several different lengths. I put tape on the 90° angle and waxed it so glue does not stick to it easily.

Shown is YAE (Yet Another Explorer).

Just the 2x4 pieces with packing tape on them. Wax for glue protection.

Now clamp the part between two to get a perfect joint!

I do the same thing but I use a 4x4 & left the rounded corners. It give the glue squeeze out somewhere to go.
