That is indeed pretty simple but I am not sure it demonstrates very much.
Even the original "RTP" system used a Scalexric hand controller with +/- wires to the plane so it could take off and land at will.

I went a bit further and used the electric wires as control lines as well.
All still controlled from outside the circle it was much gentler of the model which enabled more delicate scale type planes to be used.
Long before video was a possibility so no moving pictures but I still have some of the planes that I built.

The ultimate of my control line electric RTP models was this.

The Martin Baker MB5. All made from 1/32 sheet balsa. One geared motor for each caved balsa prop. Weighs 4.5oz Too big to fly in any house room so only flown once in a junior school hall on an open day! I still have it.
