INSANE FT Goblin!

I built an insanely powerful ft goblin just for fun. I also added some dihedral to the wings for added stability.

It’s running a 80a esc, spektrum receiver, 5x7.5 Apcprop, and a huge purple edf motor.

Battery: 850mah 3s/ 1300 4s.

Have not been able to fly it yet.

I know I had a goblin on a 6x4.5 prop with a 2750kv quad motor that would do 105 on 4s, this has to do around 120 no shot it doesn't. I know I was able to run a 2200 3s as well and that was within CG, think the 4s was a 1400.

Vid is out!

I was having some weird throttle issues on the maiden flight.🤔 My guess would be that I over-propped it.

According to Hartzell, the 3 blade is better. According to me: maybe. Have a <ctl> <alt> <del> moment in your future figuring the new prop variables. Assuming you can make pitch the 5-4-3 will fly slower but load motor less. There's also a reason people lke APC.

So if I want to go fast which one would you recommend? Or do you have any other suggestions?

2 blade props do not provide as much static thrust most of the time, but offer a higher cruise speed as there is less form drag. For speed 2 blade is the only way to go. For climb and get up and go power 3 blade or 4 blade. There even was a company back in the old and bold days of general aviation that made a single blade prop for the Piper Cub to offer a couple mph faster cruse, but it didn't climb well and took a lot longer takeoff roll.

I am currently building a ft f22 with a turnigy 1400kv motor, but seeing that it makes me want to make it faster. Though I am probably not quite ready for that kind of speed yet. Nice one Man!👍

2 blade it is.

APC props is one of the few companies that provides technical and performance data for each prop they make whether it be for speed or acrobatic conditions. Especially if you are looking for top speed for a certain motor/prop combination.
