relay to reverse a motor?

the main issue with setting up a relay is finding a relay that can handle the power. most small relays are limited to 10amps of power handeling, but are around the size of a postage stamp. something bigger that can handle around 30 amps or so is about a 1" cube. Since you will need atleast a double pole, double throw (DPDT) relay or useing 2 relays things tend to get large, heavy and bulky fast. Im not sure how big your plane is, but the relay idea may not be the most praticle.

I second either the reversable ESC or even beter the variable prop. with the variable prop you dont have to worry so much about placing the stick in the wrong place as much.

I just thought of something though...regardless of the route you take to essentially put reverse on your plane, If the prop is stuck in the bush, "ain't nuthin' gonna work" except a manual rescue...

True, reverse will be a good thing to have if you just run out of liquid runway/taxiway, but if it tries to do an impersonation of a weedwacker with wings and floats, more drastic measures will be necessary.
