On something like the noob tube, Ed recommends making one from a metal plate bent to the right angle -- a fine idea. I'd check his videos for the details.

you could also get away with a firewall made of 1/8"-ish hobby plywood, cut to size and glued into the nose. once its in ad dry, it's a good practice to put a strip of fiberglass weave tape (extreme packing tape or duct tape) over the firewall and onto the fuselage on either side to give some added grip to the sides of the fuse. Don't forget to cut the motor shaft relief -- don't want to have the firewall rubbing on the motor shaft.

Once you have that block you can mount to, if your motor has an X-mount, mount the X-mount to the motor, then use the mount to drill small diameter pilot holes. Then follow up with the mounting screws from your servo packs -- screw them in, back them out, add a dab of white gorilla glue to the screw and screw it back in. When the glue cures it'll foam into the wood making the grip on the threads incredibly strong.

I've done this on several airframes and the firewall has more than withstood the punishment . . . the rest of the airframe . . . well, it had it coming ;)
