Simple Soarer Modifications Questions

I'm going to start work on the Simple Soarer this weekend - God willing - and was going to modify the wings to include ailerons and flaps.

To accomplish this I was going to eliminate the dihedrals (sp?) at the mid-point of the wings and reduce the dihedral in the middle to half effectively making the wing straight from the center and allowing for cutting the flaps and ailerons.

The beauty of the foam board scratch builds is that if it doesn't work I can try again but was also wondering if anyone had tried something similar or if you see anything inherently wrong with the plan.

Thanks!

Should be fine to reduce dihedral if you're adding in ailerons. Definitely leave some in the middle.

What's your goal for this craft? If you're adding a motor you should be good to go. If you still want to tow or highstart, adding 2-4 servos, pushrods, and control horns is going to change the way it flies/glides quite drastically.

You also may need to decide between adding control surfaces on to the wings, or cutting them in out of existing wing.

Thanks. The power pack B is in route as well so it will definitely be a power climb to altitude.
