Take 2 - Building, Rebuilding and Flying

I made it to the field yesterday. It was a beautiful calm day. I flew the TT for 2 batteries. I think it is time for a rebuild. I tried the Simple Cub again. It did better but I still had trouble getting it to take off. I have to learn how to use the rudder on take off. I got it up for a couple seconds. Busted a prop but that was the only damage. I also flew the Spitefire and she did good even with the wind picking up.
I kept forgetting to turn on my video camera, sorry the only video I got was the second battery of the TT.

On the 1st flight (No video) I tried inverted again. That didn't work:LOL:. I think I need to practice on my sim first. It is just when I am flying I like to see what she can do. Then I find out what I can't do yet:ROFLMAO:
Practice on the sim definitely helps but in real life just go high so you have time to recover. Just remember elevator and rudder are reversed and ailerons are not.

2nd up for the day It was my second try to take off with the Simple Cub. I did practice on a sim some and if you watch the video you can see I practice for real:LOL::ROFLMAO:. The video is a little long but it shows me practicing before I actually took off for the first time with landing gear:love:

I think I did pretty good. What do you think?

Here is my second time up with more take offs and landings.

Put my second battery in and was having a good time. My 1st touch and go:D:D:cool::cool:

The Simple Cub is showing some wear and tear. The landing gear is loose and the paper is peeling off the wings. I need a couple of repairs to take her up again.

The Spitfire is a pleasure to fly I really had a good day today.:D

I know nothing!
What a great day you had! Glorious landings with the Cub and you flew the Spit like a pro! Taxiing, take-off's, touch and go's. You really put your three planes through their paces and did a wonderful job. Congratulations!

Light foamies as tail draggers are horrible to taxi in the best of times . What I would do to stop the consistent nose planting it does would be to either bend the landing gear forward an inch or two , get those wheels farther forward.

yes, a great day flying - your TT seems to fly faster than mine ever did (maybe I had too much dihedral) - the spit looks great in the air - your takeoffs and landings must make you feel awesome, I had a great experience catching my DLG three times the other day which gave me a thrill to remember!

Made it to the field again today - 2 days in a row:D. It was a club meeting and race day. Not many racers though, there were 5 but only 3 were able to compete. I am not a racer at this time. They are starting an electric motor class. I might have to think about that. Here a couple of pictures and a 38 second video.

I did decide to take the Spitfire with me and I am glad I did. I do not have any video - sorry. She was the only one I had that was ready to fly and I had to charge my batteries when I got there. They put in a solar panels and battery box so you will have power to charge your batteries there now.

I took the Spitfire up 5 or 6 times and the batteries last 12 minutes and I did not crash:D. She is ready to fly again. I got to talk to more members and guest. I also flew inverted for about 10 or 15 seconds and I even made a turn. I tried a few times before I got it to stay and at least 1 of the members noticed:) and said I was doing pretty good. I flew with others flying at the same-time, I was a little nervous and shaky at first, but I eventually calmed downed and enjoyed it. It was another great day of flying.

I had a great day, not perfect, but it was still a great day.

Here is my warm up with the TT cut short.

I said last time it was ready for a rebuild and now I am positive:LOL:

I am still to see all your videos but sounds like your having crazy fun and getting better at flying way to go brother.

On the TT I have been using the 3 cell 850 mah as recommended and it has been a good flyer. Awesome job on your catches. I have not done that yet.
