So I threw together an airboat earlier this winter. Finally had a good day to take it out today, it does fairly well. I was going around and punched the throttle to jump over a small snow mound and the motor mount broke into several pieces. The wires tore out of the motor too.
I guess that's what I get for using a motor with a mount I kind of bent back flat after a crash and superglued into place.
And then the fix is also amusing. I had another spare motor I really didn't have much of a use for so I stuck that on. Turns out measuring may have been something good to do. I can't tell if it's really touching, but the rudder doesn't bind up and the motor spins so it's probably good enough.
