Water proofing

I was browsing the internet and found this video on how to mix silicone and acetone to water proof items. I immediately thought of Foam board.
The trick of making a stirrer from zip ties, a shaft and electric drill is a good one.

I have not tried this, don't know how much weight it would add to a plane.

If this would be better in a different forum. by all means please move it.

You'd have to test your materials for melting or other damage because that combo outgasses really weird things

... to water proof items....
+1 on testing first. that mix MAY eat the foam.

Most use a clear polyurethane to water proof foam, the same stuff you use to finish wood. I prefer the oil but others have the water based poly with good results. A very light coat is all that is needed.
