20A ESC in stead of 12A ESC?

20A ESC in stead of 12A ESC? ( HELP!)

So.. I made a stupid mistake, I needed a 12a ESC for my quadcopter kit, cause 1 broke so I ordered 1.

Only problem is I ordered http://www.banggood.com/Emax-Simonk...-40A-ESC-For-Quadcopter-QAV-250-p-918126.html in 20A in stead of 12A.. would it still be ok to attach this or do I have to wait till my 12A ESC comes in?

A higher amp rating is ok. If you needed a 20 and used a 12A that would be a problem but not the other way around.

The only other thing is make sure you order the correct S rating (the voltage rating of the ESC)

As long as your battery is a 2S or 3S (from the specs on your linked page)

I'd recheck your balance and make adjustments to bring the CG back to center -- the 20A ESC likely weights more than it's 12A neighbors . . .

. . . but yeah. should work.

The only thing I would be concerned with is that it is preferred to have 4 identical esc's on a quad, so that they respond to inputs the same way. But this being the same manufacturer, I don't think it should be an issue. Just make sure that you recalibrate the esc's after installing it.

What brand ESC are you using? And do they come with a 5v bec? Thanks.

It's an Eflite Pro esc, and it does have the BEC, i also use a HobbyWing 25a esc with no issues
