Here is one of mine from a few years ago.

Image highly compressed; sorry about the quality.

Nice, is that a historical building?

Sorry to not explain in the post; it's the main building of St Joseph's College in Sydney. Known as 'Joey's' to the locals. Camera was a Pentax Optio (S7 I think, I've moved 100% to Canon now) and aircraft a GWS Slow Stick.

Here is a more recent shot:

It's a business park just down the road from my office in Deakin, Canberra, Australia. The cafe in the middle there is quite good!

Aircraft: GWS Slow Stick with DT750 motor.
Camera: Canon A100 (or something like that, can't remember! The compact with a viewfinder)
Camera Mount: ASKMAN (if you can get one, do!)

Really nice shots you got there!

Where you flying on sight or FPV`?

Line of sight!

At Joey's I was flying from the rugby oval closeby.

At the business park I was flying from an adjacent carpark.

I've been known to use a jetty for AP operations (that's me below);

If the space is tight I'll hand catch rather than land.

Crazy flyer/crasher :D
Very nice pictures.

I think I would find it really hard to see the position of the plane/xcopter at all.

Dies your GWS Slow stick just hover in the air if you don´t touch the sticks?
Because I could never ever see out of that distance which way the heli or whatever it was is tilting to compensate that.

Sorry for the late reply! Missed your post until now.

I hope I understood the question, but here goes;

I wouldn't say the SS hovers (unless there is a headwind!). It does get tossed by the breeze so you do have to keep 'flying it' to keep it on track over the target... smooth movements though.

My askman camera mount lets the camera 'hang' so gravity keeps the camera straight while the aircraft moves about. Camera tilt angle is adjusted by a servo. Just don't forget to switch the tilt back up for landing (ask me how I know!).

As for seeing it at a distance; the aircraft is constantly moving so you can tell where its going by where its been. For example if its flying from right to left in front of you and moving away at the same time the right wing is down and its slowly turning right. This might need left rudder compensation if you need the aircraft closer to the subject.

Question answered?

Another photo to keep the thread interesting:

This is Pretty Beach on the NSW coast (Australia). I'm standing in the front yard of a house we were staying at (with a green roof to the top left). The road was the runway (no traffic there!).

Thanks yeah my question is answered :D

I have to agree with bicyclemoney. The fact that there are more boats then cars on that picture and the resolution is awesome as well makes it a even more awesome picture!!

My Best one to Date

Hi Guys,

Really new to the forum but been flying Heli's for a couple of years but mostly in 3D form but decided to try out multicopters this year and WOW! Love the show and been watching since March.

Anyway just finished my latest tricopter which is powered using a CC board though having a few issue but will iron those out soon.

So attached is my best pictures from Pocra Quay Aberdeen Harbour on a really nice Scottish summer :)

Yeah Gopro set to take pictures every 3 seconds. In the process of building a Y6 which will have a better camera but still unsure what, needs more research.
