Hey guys. Im currently looking for a drone under 250 grams that I could use to shoot some FPV vids/pics. Does anyone have a good recommendation for under $250?

One option that comes to mind is the DJI Mini 2. It weighs just under 250 grams and offers impressive features at an affordable price point.

I second this recommendation. Take care to please comply with regulations. The DJIMmini is sub 250 grams without prop guards. So if you have your part 107 And want to fly this drone in Operations Over People, it’s no longer Category 1 if you add prop guards and of course you need prop guards to fly OOP.

Can you explain OOP and categories? I was just thinking of flying it around my neighborhood from the comfort of my warm house.

OOP is Operations Over People. If you have your part 107 Remote Pilot Certification you can fly over people only if you adhere to the rules of Operations Over People. There are four categories of sUAS which comply with OOP. Category 1 requires the sUAS be less than 250 grams, have prop guards and also have remote ID.

[unless something changed recently] in the US, outside of an LOS waiver you have to maintain LOS [line of sight] on your drone - by either you or a spotter [non-107/Hobbyist spotters have to be standing next to you].

So it is unlikely you could be flying it around your neighborhood from inside your house legally.
