Cessna Bits Mustang?

It looks a bit like a Mustang but it is in part made up from the wings of a Cessna Skymaster O2 (Vietnam Special Ops version) which perhaps qualifies it as a sort of war bird. It also explains the overall black finish and the "skeleton" red USA markings
It has actually been in storage for about 3 years but has been recently resurrected.
980mm (38.5") span it is made from 3mm Depron sheet with a balsa/Depron/balsa spar. It is very light at 370g (13oz) with a 1500mAh 3s LiPo on board.
The motor is an Emax 2822 1200kv driving a 9x6 prop. This gives true unlimited vertical at full power yet the motor/prop combination is also remarkably efficient at cruise power. To be honest it is such fun to fly in a spirited manner I have never actually tried to determine just how long it could fly for.

To complete the background this is a picture of the now defunct Skymaster

With two of the same motors and props it too flew very well for some years until wrecked beyond repair from a serious landing accident.

Where’d you get the plans for the Cessna?

Mr Man
The Cessna was a scratch build from this small detailed 3 view off the internet suitably tile printed to the required size.
O-2sections.jpg
The scale was chosen so the 9x6 props that suited the motors were the scale diameter for the Cessna O-2 variant which uniquely used 2 blade variable pitch props. In Vietnam "Special Operations" it used that all black "no white" colour scheme.
All foam, no undercarriage, so very light making it an easy hand launch and belly land on grass.
