Does the Turnigy iA6C work with the Turnigy 9X Transmitter. Help I'm grounded.. :-<

Looking for an SBUS, IBUS solution for my turnigy 9x my spektrum DX6i has become unreliable at 100+ feet. I'm not really worried about telemetry I just want to fly my miniquads without having to buy a new $200 spektrum. I don't want to go back to old-tymey analog connections. I have 3-4 quads with Naze32's most don't even have the receiver inputs soldered to them because I have been using SBUS. Does the iA6C compatible with the 9X? Do I need a module? Also considering a DX6e but not a good time to blow $150. I'm trying to get back into the air on the cheap.

The i series RXs which use AFHDS2A do not work with the 9X module which uses the older AFHDS protocol. There is no available module for AFHDS2A as far as I am aware.

It is possible the MULTI module may be able to support it. However I don't think the MULTI module will work in a stock 9X...not 100% sure...it may support ppm...but in any case its a project.

Another cheap option is to get a FlySky i6 TX for $50 including a iA6B RX...

or if you only fly multirotors you could get an i6S although I'm not a fan...touch screen...also no physical trim switches only one free mix and no elevon mix kind of limits it for anything but multi-rotor use whereas the i6 has those things. But the HK deal gets you two receivers and the i6S has some features that work well with multirotors. You can use your 9X for fixed wing stuff.

Thank you Mr Knob presser!! I see that now the protocol name is AFHDS(2A). I'm searching my heart to see if I want to become a FlySky man or blow more for the new budget Spektrum. The i6S looks tempting and the i6 is even cheaper.

Since this is still a fairly recent thread, I thought I'd jump in here to say that you may want to consider the new/upcoming i6X radio. There's a new PWM, PPM, and i-Bus receiver to go along with it; the X6B.

I don't really know anything about it besides the info on that page. I just saw it today in my email. It looks like it will be an even more capable beginner radio.

Interesting...looks like they may have incorporated the changes from the i6 Hack firmware somehow.

The X6B IBUS receiver is a bit odd given there is a Turnigy iA6B v2 (PWM, PPM, IBUS and now SBUS) and a Turnigy iA6C (no PWM but with PPM, IBUS and SBUS) Maybe Turnigy got an exclusive on those for now.
