Hi all !
First post / thread in this forum from me. I'm a huge fan of all things RC related, avid watcher of FliteTest and have a software company that lives on RC titles for IOS (up till now).

I'm writing this thread because I would love some testers for our new product: DroneGP 15 which will soon be released.
We have just made available an alpha version of the game, quite rough but it should give a decent idea of how COOL it is to race drones :) . We released this alpha version mainly to test our new multiplayer engine which will be included in our other titles.

Super happy to be writing about it here, since we dedicated a lot of time to physics simulation and avionics in our new titles, I truly hope you will appreciate it. For instance, the core of the avionics software that sends inputs to the drone engines in DroneGP comes from a real life arduino project of mine, so you should see the drone reacting as expected given his mass and engines, props etc.

Alpha link for Mac and PC

NOTE :
In the alpha, you are limited to race mode, multiplayer or solo against AI's. We have height limiter on the vehicles to keep
them in the track bounds (done limiting engine power of vehicle based on height), so you might experience odd behaviours when the vertical indicator on the right side of the screen reaches the yellow leds.

Great thanks for reading, and for all feedback that you will provide .

UPDATE: new screenshots from final version !

welcome to the forums, LJSilver! That's a very cool idea. Is there anything that these guys need to do to become testers?

Great thanks !
Alpha version is completely free, everybody can follow link, download and start playing.
But we would love to receive feedback about difficulty, lap times, multiplayer matches etc.
It is not required, but game will prompt you to create a "FrozenPepper Account" (still free), this give you access to global scoreboards (which are already working) and help us understanding what times to expect from users.

We are working on many track styles (some more "home made" ) and drone categories. The one you race in the alpha are sort of "High performances racing drones" but more beginner oriented ones will be available in final game (smaller, lighter with less inertia to control, something similar to a Blade qx180 would be our "rookie" drone in final game).

Where do I tune PIDs? :) I can't seem to get a hang of the keyboard controls though...

Currently there is no user accessible graphics to tune PIDs, but i'm hoping to make them accessible for more advanced users.
Actually, this community is probably among the best where to ask, would you tune the PID's in your virtual racing drone ?

About the keyboard..... I was on the same boat, I now love keyboard, but also a real RC remote connected to the computer can do the trick ;) (game supports it, GUI to get it running is not yet the best, but if you click on the "settings" button in the pause menu while in game you can map inputs to keyboard or joysticks).

looks cool. should be interesting to see how it handles the flight physics compared to realflight 7.5 and pheonix rc whatever the latest version is v? . i have both and spend a hour to 3 hours a day practicing. looks cool from the pictures.. thanks. will go download it.. and give it ago in the morning. im kicking off my sandals now; grabbing a bag of ice for my bad leg, and take my pain meds for the eve. rock on.

GREAT THANKS for the feedback !

I'm here to say that new alpha version available for download bringing many fixes, new features and better reactivity from the drones.

We also have a new "reveal trailer" !

And an important note for all "real life" drone fliers : we use flight controllers to tune the experience towards more beginner users or advanced. The vehicles you will control in the alpha, are sort of "intermediate" level, tilt angles are limited as in the various "angle" modes of popular flight controllers, and height is sort of "automatic", you use the throttle input to raise or lower the wanted height. We will provide both easier and "harder" vehicles in final game.

Very happy to write that the first version of DroneGP has been submitted to apple for review and release on the AppStore. Game will be out soon for PC and Mac, and a new beta / demo version will be made available for download in the next few weeks.

And a few screenshots from the final iOs version of DroneGP 15 :
