This is Mr. Fat Shark himself (aka Gregory French). We took some time to relax from our travels in France to talk to him about his Dominator HD FPV goggles.

These bad boys are the FPV pilots best friend. They offer a 45˚ FOV with an absolutely beautiful, crisp picture. As you may know, we love anything that allows a pilot to grow as their skills improve, and the Dominator HDs do not disappoint.

The module bays on either side of the goggle allow for the addition or upgrade of different features. This is the Trinity Head Tracker. If you are unfamiliar, a head tracker allows you to control the direction of your FPV camera by simply looking around with your goggles. Motion sensors activate servos mounted on the camera to allow you to freely look around as if you were actually in the cockpit! In the early days, the cameras could only look around on a 2-axis system. This upgrades the technology to a 3-axis system (pan, tilt, roll) to give complete freedom of movement.

Depending on the type of flying that you are doing, you can swap out the receivers to work on either 5.8GHz or 2.4GHz for you long range pilots out there. Keep your eyes open for a 1.3 GHz module on the way! Again, the flexibility of these goggles is what get us so excited!

The last feature that really takes these goggles to the next level is the built in DVR. So many times we wish that we could have a direct feed from our goggles to show you exactly what we see. This was possible in the past with a separate DVR setup, but there were always issues with delay and they were just a general pain to setup. The Dominator HDs have a MicroSD slot that can support up to 32GB. The goggles record directly to the MicroSD card for quite possibly the simplest way to share your FPV adventures with the world.
If you want to upgrade even further, every ImmersionRC component is compatible with Fat Shark products. The most impressive is the ImmersionRC EzOSD. The telemetry data the EzOSD provides can be recorded to the MicroSD and it creates a GPS "bread crumb" trail of your entire flight. That information can be extremely helpful to find a lost plane or to even re-live the flight through Google Earth using the free iTelemetry FPV app. Even more fun though is to run the GPS coordinates though an old map of Google Earth and you can watch the exact same flight you just made, but in the past!
