My first rc build was the simple storch but i had a hard time flying it and the only time i did good the wing folded so i built a cub and that didnt fly. After the cub was a simple stick and that flew into a tree, then i did good with the flyer and im currently doing good with the tutor! My first ever build (not rc) was the ft long ez as a glider.
My first build was the LongEZ as RC and I put a dent in the side of the barn with it! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

i had good luck with all my ft builds until i crash them. they never fly well after that. better to start over.

None of the above but an enjoyable first scratch build. It’s the Jupiter Duck flying boat, a free plan download from the German Model Magazine Flugmodell. I enlarged them 200%. All Depron for the main parts. Some plywood, piano wire, and carbon fiber strips here and there. More details on my blog.
