FT Sea Otter troubles

The Sea Otter is such a great looking and flying plane, one of my favorite FT designs.
Here's my Otter:

Cannot build without making changes. To ease liftoff from grass and snow, I cut out the first step on the bottom. Will try it later.

coming alone, quite good some places, other needed adjustments.
I forgot measure the length of motor planned use with its propadapter. That gave its 15mm approx. to far forward. 15mm opening to between spinner and fuselage isnt ok for me. I need make a firewall further back.
I forgot the "V" shaped elevator, and just made pushrod system for one side... thats reason why needed cut an opening at the rear fuselage to make connection for other side too... So it is when medicines do affects .

I should build one sometime, does it fly well?
Very well, if a little fast for this old man. I changed the shape of the bottom to assist grass/snow takeoffs. 22oz AUW and 24oz static thrust on a 2212 10T 1400kv motor swinging an 8x6 prop, driven by 1800mah 3s batt. When I rebuild, I'll extend the wing to slow it down a bit. The pics show the change in the hull shape.

Wish there was more water nearby. The chagrin river is too small.
