I wanted to use 30 percent exponential on my recently built Tiny Trainer. After doing this with my Futaba T7CP, I took it for its maiden. I thought I had lost my ability to fly after I launched it. The plane was so twitchy and sensitive. I then turned off the EXPO and had a great flight. So what went wrong? Well on the Futaba you have to go negative expo to soften the sticks in the center. Having never used expo I did not check this with my Futaba transmitter. I just put in 30 percent and thought that would be fine, but I added positive expo which made the plane crazy to fly. I don't know if other makes of transmitters use negative expo to soften the sticks but Futaba does. I should have checked the instructions, so I was to blame. If anyone out there is using Futaba please be aware of this and avoid crashing.
