Having issues setting up my Electrohub :(

If any of you are looking in the fixed wing section, I posted there as well with a similar issue with my Versa! This time, it's my electrohub. For some reason, it is not liking my Flysky TH9X radio system. I can't get the board to do anything at all! I can supply pictures if that helps anyone in helping me. I think I have all the wires hooked up correctly, but I cannot get ANY feed at all from my radio to the control board (all motors, escs, and control board came from Ready To Fly Quads). Again, just like the other post, I am NOT bashing them for bad product, but simply looking for a solution! :) I tried switching the wires on the control board (rotating the signal wire to the opposite side), then some of the escs (or motors) would give off a beep tone.

Any help would be much appreciated, I am honestly a newb at building, but I am trying to teach myself with only youtube and forums guiding me (no flight clubs near me). Thanks in advance guys!

If you supply more information about the setup it would be easier to get to the root of the problem. As i dont know what gear youre using i have no clue if this is the problem but does it have something to do with cppm? Is the board or receiver using cppm but not the other? Also have you checked that the receiver is getting power?

Here is the kit I bought from rtf quads http://witespyquad.gostorego.com/flite-test-electrohub-electronic-kit.html As of right now it is out of stock, but I bought basically everything Josh and Alex used in the video for the build. Also, I am using the radio I mentioned above the Flysky TH9x. The receiver is getting power, but I can't give the control board any input? Is the Flip 1.5 board supposed to be red, flash stages of blue, and then go back red until the board is initialized? It basically won't communicate with the board at all. I tried to engage and disengage the motors, and got no response.

I may be reading it wrong, but it appears that the signal wires should be connected to the top pins, not the bottom. It looks the same on the receiver. It appears that they are connected to ground instead of signal.

First of all you need to slow down and be more methodical about things before you cost yourself a bunch of money and a lot of time. I can see you have no properly setup your transmitter. Your throttle needs to be trimmed to zero, then get into the GUI and make sure your channels are all reading properly AFTER watching the complete video that's on Paul's website wiki. Or YouTube flip1.5 for dummies. Plugging things into channels randomly is going to get you in trouble and cost you money.

The signal wires should be on the top pins to start, your tx needs to have the travel limits maxed out to 125% in both directions and your esc's need to be calibrated. But start with the video and then configure your tx. No need to load the old firmware like in the video, the 2.3 Paul puts on the board is great. Just learn to use the GUI

I tried to use his first setup video, and it didn't seem to do much. Again, I will come back to it, and repeat the steps. Trust me, I am being methodical. I downloaded the build video, and watched it probably 50 times during building. I must have just got turned around thinking I had the plugs in the correct places. Again, I am by NO MEANS a seasoned person at this. I do know I DON'T have the transmitter setup properly. That's why I came here for help.

Start with configuring the tx. Plug in the board and make sure your board is reading your inputs. I run the same tx and was only able to get values from 1000 to 1880, not 880 to 2020 or whatever he said to target, but it flies great. IF Your not getting similar values you won't be able to arm the board.

Okay. The wires of the escs, need to have the ground wires (black) down, not up correct? Also, is the I guess I'll call it splitter wire, that comes to only three little plugs, supposed to be on the top, signal plugs in the esc and receiver, and not on the bottom? I will just reset my transmitter and start from scratch. It sounds about as easy at this point. Can you make a video of your settings, and procedure ssteve as it sounds like you have my almost identical setup?

I followed this video step by step... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q27V9h4e3Po Still I can't get it to do anything. The only step I couldn't get is using the 3 position switch to change the AUX in the very last step in the setup. For some reason my 3 position switch isn't working or something. However, whenever I put both sticks outward (left-bottom left right-bottom right) a blue light flashes on the board solid for a half a second, then blinks quickly and goes away. Every single time I do that, the board does that. So clearly I am able to talk to the board, I am just missing something, but I can't figure out what it is. Anymore suggestions?? I can't get Paul to answer anymore emails.

What does your throttle rate range from/to when you plug the board in? You'll need it to be from about 1000 to 1900. If it's not going lower it won't arm.

I'll check on that. I have no clue where it is. Like I have said, this ALL is new to me, so I am trying to catch my footing and figure it all out.

If you don't know the values then you are not following the instructions step by step. The values of what the board is seeing from the tx is the most important part. It's really the only thing you need to do to get the board running. If your throttle value is off even a little you might as well be trying to arm the board by pushing the left stick up and to the left... It's never going to work.

Watch this, pay specific attention to the input values. Your tx will go to 125% in both directions. If you can't get the throttle value under the minimum(I think 1050) then in the settings tab you can change the minimum value.

Hey not sure if you're still having trouble, but you might look at this picture for the connections going to your receiver. I noticed you have don't have your 3pin connectors on the top row. I also had trouble getting mine to arm until I realized i had to get the tx values to the right range. I've had about 6-7 flights on it, going great so far.

Well, I am up and running! I just gave in and bought a DX6i (yes I know the 6 is out, but I just didn't want to spend that much right now). Changed the settings in the transmitter, and off I went!! It definitely flys different than my LaTrax Alias, but maybe I can reduce the throws.

Congratz! You can definitely reduce the throws. I even added a touch more expo. AP, your looks as dusty as mine.
