Impending Build

First 250 size build

There has been a parts list building in my brain for a while as I watch videos and read forums. Find below the list as it exists today. I have duplicates of some things as I am unable to decide between the two.

Feel free to make suggestions and comment on the parts as well as let me know if i have missed anything. This will be my first build larger than a Whoop or Gremlin. I will probably also need extra silicone wire and hardware as well as XT60 connectors. I'll add those to the list in a bit. Oh, and batteries as well. I have a Frsky receiver already.

Alright, so I did the build and flew it. The pictures will be below. The only issues right now are jello in the FPV feed and crummy electrical tape mounting of things. Kind of a work in progress. Also a crash did me the favor of removing my receiver antennas. Now I need to learn how to tune.

Solid looking build. Which frame did you order?

Do you know if those ESCs will do Dshot without removing any caps (if you want to go try that out later)?

If you're looking at spending $35 on a VTX, might as well spring for a cricket that easily mounts to a RMRC frame.

I'd go for 2300kv motors over 2000kv on a 5"

The frame was not part of this order. I made the Amazon portion. The ESC are supposed to be DShot capable.
Dont know about component removal. Camera, VTX (unfortunately not the cricket), motors (the 2000kv, supposedly stupid smooth), and the antennas. I may go back on the VTX, but the hawkeye reviews well.

Leaning toward the Valorem frame. Supposedly very tough and priced attractively.

That VTX should be good. I'm just not a fan of dip switches anymore. I've been using these cheap ones, but I don't know if they reliably output 200mw - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M059CE4?psc=1

If you want Dshot on those escs, look here - https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=36205800&postcount=1527

Welp, as is true to the hobby, crash. Somehow despite the zip ties and heat shrink both receiver antennas were cut/torn off. Luckily I planned ahead and ordered 10 spare antenna. Nope. The sockets do not match the plug on the receiver board. So, order a couple different ones. Nope same as the other batch. So the Valorem is grounded until I get a new X4R-SB or XSR.

And you have both sizes and they both don't fit? ...think I'm missing something... maybe aloft gave you the wrong ones by mistake?

...anyway:

FrSKY 150mm Rx antenna - new connector
http://rotorgeeks.com/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=frsky&product_id=630

I have 8 of these, used two to fix a Frsky XSR. Cut, strip, solder job.

https://www.readymaderc.com/store/i...oduct_info&cPath=344_346_359&products_id=6003

And 4 of the others linked from Aloft.

I will get a couple of those and hope.
