It would be fun, but seeing as they are a pretty major influence on the RC community and FPV is only basically illegal at the moment they can't really publicize something like that.

Please don't forget that FT has a worldwide audience. :)

Also as far as I know FPV is still not officially illegal in the US? It's more of a greyish area where people are confused, but there is no law against it, is there?

There are no official LAWS against flying fpv. Also, the FAA only has control of airspace above 500ft. Below 500ft is private property and as long as you obay AMA safety codes, flying only up to 400ft and at least 5 miles from an airport, the FAA has no jurisdiction over it. (That is my understanding but I may be wrong...)

The FAA would disagree with you on this, but the FAA would like to regulate Indoor flying as well.

Now whether they're right or not, that's up for the courts to decide, but the way they're couching their interpretations, they're simply re-interperating the statutes currently in place. If the cort sides with them, there's noting but the bureaucratic process slowing them from prosecuting us all retroactively for breaking established law that's been interperated to their liking.

All that being said . . . Has anyone mentioned that long range flight is boring?

Oh! Right! Trappy did :p
