For a long time I have had the idea to make a b-17 with the ez pack. So after Flite fest I played a round with different ways of doing it. I first tried a profile design, but I thought it was too simple, so a few days later I was just sitting doing nothing playing with a peace of foam board when I discovered that if you peel the paper off one side and then form it (the same way you form the master series planes) and then peel off the other side you can create the same kind of models and also decrease the weight about 40% and when you’re working with models this small every gram counts. I’m planning on eventually making plans for this (no pun intended)
here is a few photos of what I was talking about.
The way I made the wing was I molded both halves and then made a very shallow bevel all around each half of the wing and then glued the two halves together.
It makes a good wing and probably does not need a spar.
Its very close to being finish, I’m going to start on v2 and plans after I get this one finished.
