Motor question

picked up a hobby king st3511 810kv with 30amp ESC. can i put this in the FT 3D? it was on sale is my justification of buying it without anything to put it in. I also would like to get away from buying power packs ect off the store and experiment. Emax are great products so far but i have nothing to compare it too. thanks in advance for help and advice.

Yup.

I'd run 3S and put a long prop on it -- the 12x6 they recommend should be fine (~270W). Might even bump up an inch on the prop, but hard to say if you'd need to get a bigger ESC for that (it's not a particularly efficient motor, but at 25A the 12x6 is fine for the ESC, but light for the motor).
