NO NAME AIRPLANE
(Morning build - Afternoon fly)​

The “No Name Airplane” is a low cost, quick build “Chuck-n-Fly” RC airplane. It is small and requires little room for transport.

It is constructed from one sheet of foam board and a piece of card stock/poster board. Components: MT1806 motor, 12-20-amp speed control and 500-800 mah 2-3 cell battery. Servos: 4-8 grams (Flite Test Power Pack “A”). Note: 9051 servos internal gears can be easily stripped by working on them when energized.

Construction: First review the notes on the drawing. Use templates to mark cut lines. Cutout all components. Flip fuselage and its template over and mark areas to be cutout after assembly.

Assemble wing: The bevel “V” cut on the leading edge is larger than 45 degrees. This is to help form a semi-symmetrical wing shape. Sand cut for smoothness. Coat “LE” “V” and ailerons cuts with hot glue and scape out excess, let cool. Before gluing spars in wing, fold wing bottom down gently flat to meet its top. Note, if the wing “LE” is shaper than you like, you can add a bead of hot glue in the "V" cut bottom and smooth it uniformly across it length. Observe the wing bottom center mating. This area must mate cleanly to prevent wing distortion. Glue spars in place. Place wing bottom side down with wing gauge on the “LE” and the “TE” folding to work table. Recheck bottom center alignment. When comfortable with alignment, apply hot glue to a wing half spar and its “TE”. Refold and hold wing in position for 3 minutes. Repeat on remaining half.

Note: Using excessive glue adds weight, increases its cooling time and seldom adds strength, scrape off excess when you can.

Fuselage: Do not cutout tail slot, wing bed or hatch opening. These cuts are to be made after the fuselage is formed and glued.

Assemble all components with care to alignment and seating. Install your servos, receiver and power components. Do not forget to reinforce the power pod with tape as “Flite Test” recommends. The power pod is shortened in length to prevent its interference with wing and in height to allow room for the “ESC”.

Canopy: When gluing canopy forming tabs to their mating position you can use hot glue or “Loctite” clear “Power Grab”. “Power Grab” bounds within a minute. Apply glue to these tabs and clamp in position with forceps. After canopy toughly dries, gently press down to form canopy onto hatch cover and inserting mounting tabs into slots. On the backside of the hatch fold long mounting tabs over and glue. Ring canopy with hot glue holding sides to desired position. Glue hatch to fuselage.

Throws, Elevator ¼” and ailerons 1/8”, low rate. High rate is yours to set. The “CG” is located under the wing servos placement.

Chuck “No Name Airplane” into the air and have fun. Add some dihedral and it will improve flight
