It flew. Needed lots of down elevator and moved CG .25in forward, might move more. I'd reduce rear wing incidence 2 degrees off the plans. Very good build experience. Sure is hard to keep oriented in flight 😉, but fun.

Thanks to a post by @Brian B I discovered this plane and am just finishing up. What a fun build, excellent plans and instructions! Since it's too cold to paint I took my first stab at really thin colored packing tape and I now have great respect for anyone who can do this without wrinkles. I've got a good 15 foot job on it. One big surprise is how BIG it is. It out grew my regular build table and is almost to big for my big table! Hope this post bumps this plane up in everyone's attention.

Edit: Upper wing, vert stab and wing end supports just taped up right now. I'm going to use beacon foam glue on the vert stab to give me some working time to hot glue the ends of the wings. I'll let you know if that brilliant plan works or not :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Edit of the Edit: It worked great! Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while.

I maidened my PrandtlLight this afternoon. Man, was it cold - 22F and 7mph wind. (Please repeat after me the winter flier's chant: Owa - Tajer - Kiam. If you don't get it right away keep chanting it out loud faster and faster). Anyway, I had my doubts about the power. The planes AUW is 845g with a 1300 3s battery, 2305 2300kva motor, 6x4 pusher and esc & rx. That battery, motor and prop gave me 625g thrust on the test stand and I almost went with a 2212 instead. Glad I didn't. This set up was more than enough.

The first flight started with just taxiing on the snow, or so I thought - it jumped in the air. I had the same experience as @Brian B and was pushing the nose down the entire flight. Didn't plan to be in the air so didn't turn the camera on until I was stabile-ish. Second flight was 3/4 of my down trim and the third flight was full down and it was just right. All the landings were power off glides from about 20' high. It glides like a sailplane.

Not great video, sorry. More just proof of life and something to annoy my wife with.

Great job. The designer didn't include a name, but hat's off to him. I'm so impressed after making two, I'm seriously considered a 3rd by taking the wing form, restyling the fuselage again, adding another motor, and convert to a balsa design. It really is amazing when built light. My EDF is fun, but the extra weight does cut into glide efficency and flight times. Two drone motors would be great.
Enjoys it. It's really tough.

It's impressive. Did you adjust the angle of the rear wing on your second one? I tried tracking the designer but it looks like he was here and on reddit then disappeared.
