Hi!
I've been meaning to try that "RC Desk Pilot", which is supposedly a good simulator that is free. Since you use a computer to run the software, your Tx has to have someway of connecting to the computer. Unfortunately, my DX6e doesn't seem to have any ports at all, and so I did a little research. First I found a $39.99 "dongle" called the "WS1000" made by Spektrum. I searched a little more, and found a different "dongle" on HK called the "OrangeRx DSMX/DSM2 Compatible Dongle", for a lower price, at $13.35.
What I want to know is, which of these will work, or do none of them work? What are dongles, and how do they work? What dongles can be used with RC Desk Pilot? Thanks!
Oh here's the links
https://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SPMWS1000

Edit:
There seems to be something about a simulator being "open source". How does that have to do with the compatibility of different dongles? Thanks again!
