@mayan - thanks for the kind words - it certainly looks like an interesting concept and I do hope it all comes together! I don't think I will finish this one before Christmas, but if I get the bones of it glued up I will be happy!

I wouldn't rush it and make sure it works amaze as it looks , just my thought .

I missed that. What the hell happened there? It didn’t look like the lipo battery, that would have been impossible to reach with you hand.

for some reason the ESC caught fire. I had 2 from the same batch do it.

some more progress - I have removed the foam from the cockpit and exposed the wing mound which I plan to reinforce with epoxy when I add a fibreglass lining to the cockpit - a dry fit of the Rotor mechanism thankfully fits!

Yip - they are called pitcherons - each wing will be able to move together or independently - actually you don't need ailerons, elevators, or rudders to fly! I might add flaps and elevator for a landing mode (we will see)!

tonight I added a layer of fibreglass cloth to the inside of the cockpit and the canopy and layered in some epoxy and cloth over the wing mount for some more strength - hopefully, all things being equal, the internals should still fit!

I know what I went through learning to fly and how many trips I made out across a field to retrieve a plane. I figure you have either done a LOT of hiking or there are a lot of planes somewhere on those slopes. That is amazing flying skills.

Some progress this afternoon to cut the slots in the sidewalls of the fuse to allow the control arms from the wing through to the rotor mechanism - I also added the new CF tubes to provide the correct pivoting point for the wings - the next step will be to glue in the rotor mechanism and servo mounts!

The 3D printed wings weigh 300g, the fuse weighs 150g, and the total weight (no CG balance weight) with tail and servos is around 625g.
