I built a classic Sparrow and I used some spare drone parts: a 1708-1900 motor, and a 5030 3 blade gemfan. Numbers pointing to the nose, and clockwise spin looking from the back to the front.
I had 2 days of successful flights, but it seems like even a 6mph wind stops the thing cold. I can keep it in the air with almost 0 ground speed. Turning it around and flying with or lateral to the wind it wakes right up.
I guess I was just surprised because at 6mph it felt pretty calm out today. So I'm wondering if using the 5 inch vs recommended 6 is just hiding too much prop behind the v tail. Or how it has handles wind for your builds.
