Stepdown Converter

I ordered a servo tester and was thinking about how to bench power it. I use Stepdown converters for LED lighting on my Train Set and these converters are cheap on eBay. I can dial this down to less than 5v.

It is powered with an old 12VDC wall wart (500mAh). I just have to change out the connector to ply into the servo tester.

A little solder, a little heat shrink and you have a respectable hack. Nice way to repurpose stuffs.

I haven't thrown out a 12vdc wall wart in a long time. I just found a 1.5 amp 12vdc wall wart this morning. That is good for 70 or so LEDs

I gave away 3 boxes of old wal warts, power cables, power supplies and chargers from years of running rc cars and trucks when I could no longer afford the storage unit I had all my junk in that would not fit in my apartment.

I have a bucket full of wall warts in my basement. Constantly using them for small projects.
