1s Findings

Just a thread about the things I have found works well for me on 1s micros. This is all subjective and these are my opinions.

Gemfan 1610 biblade is the BEST 1s 40mm prop on 0802. The 0802s can swing them easier cuz they only have 2 blades and a small hub. This results in high efficiency AND good performance. The motor can manage the prop better because it is lighter giving it faster response. The 40mm props have a >50% increase in disk area over 31mm prop. This is HUGE for power and efficiency. The 1610 has this benefit while weighing in at about the same as the gemfan 1219 (my favorite 31mm prop).

0802 motors CAN handle the new gemfan 2015 prop with response being slightly lacking. I did manage to get a 7 minute flight time with 0802 16000kv on a 1s 450mah with good freestyle performance as well.

Project mockingbird tune for the flywoo baby nano works really well on open prop 40mm - efficiency based 2 inch (gemfan 2015) quads on 1s

Bt2.0 does have benefits. I think that for 1mm props ph2.0 is better. Ultralight 40mm to 2.5 inch 1s is perfect for bt2.0. Ultralight 3 inch (and I do mean ultralight) can squeak by with bt2.0, although it could probably benefit from gnb37. Not quite so ultralight 3 inch (>55g auw) probably needs xt30.

ExpressLRS is awesome after the initial learning curve. Cheap and the receivers only weigh .5g if they aren't built in!

Bluejay esc firmware is great. You can easily get bidirectional dshot AND cool startup tones for free!

I will continue to update this thread as I experiment with new things.

I like this thread a lot! I use 0802 25000kv motors with 1635 3blade props and they handle it fine! Not that efficient but it gets the job done and saves me having to buy 1103 motors

Yeah on a 21g whoop with 19000kv 0802 motors with the 1610 props I get around 5 min flight time on a 1s 450mah with the throttle average being around 60%. Ive actually found that I can get more thrust out of the 1610 over the 1635 on 0802 because the motor can spin it so much easier.

Really?! I need to try that, maybe I will get better punches? Who knows?

I really want to get a set of the new rcinpower 1002 22000kv motors for my whoop, the thing would be a beast!
