This weekend was the 2021 Bigfoot Fall Fly-In at Morris Field, home of the Birmingham RC Association. It was a Friday-Sunday event, however I was only there for about 4 hours on Saturday. With me I had a Banana Hobby P-40N, a FT mini-commuter, and a Walmart glider that I had hastily thrown RC gear on. Unfortunately my two home-builds seemed to be underpowered and my P-40 had a CG shift involving the battery and crashed shortly after takeoff. I'm pretty sure that I accounted for 1/5th of the crashes that day. Regardless I had a grin on my face the entire time. I will probably build a trainer next and prepare for the Spring Fly in. The highlight of the day for me was watching the turbine powered Thunderbirds jet encounter a flameout and then watching the pilot somehow pull off a perfect dead stick landing with no room for error.
