What slicer are you using? I use Cura but it doesn't seem to be respecting the inner structure...?
did some digging, downloaded PrusaSlicer (looks cool but very used to Cura) and then found how how to get the inner supports to print in Cura - had to turn off "Union Overlapping Volumes" (using Cura 5.2.1)

Successful maiden flight today! Need to work on the programing for the flaps to keep it from ballooning.

Time to start my LW-PLA print. It was flying so well on 3s but I was going too slow and was too low for the immelmann turn when it stalled into a spin. Not enough altitude to recover. 4s is fun although a bit faster than what I prefer and dosent feel as smooth or fly as scale. Hopefully cutting the weight will make things even better since it was heavy. View attachment 214677 View attachment 214678
U think 3d print like this can handle a nitro engine or does it need a different design or inner frame added?

Just Plane Crazy
The F-82 is a twin mustang. Basically two P-51 stretched and glued together in the middle. Used as a bomber escort and for long range missions post war.

Sorry, late to the party as usual...
Interestingly enough, the F-82 airframe only had one single part that it shared with the P-51 and that was the tail wheel assembly. The rest was a completely different airframe and not interchangeable with P-51 parts!

Great Looking plane. Are you going to release the updated files? That would be great.
Hey Chris. Sorry its been a while since I've done anything with this. All the files are poorly organized on my computer but I think these are the latest that I actually printed and flew. If you or anyone need Gcode I have that as well but figured id just post the stls for now. Please share pictures and flight review if you decide to build one.(y)

Thanks for the update. Looks like a great plane

The print recommendations are no top an bottom layers, so I am assuming the panel that shows on the right hand part will not print as shown below. is this correct? The small line that the arrow is pointing to will print and fall to the print bed.

It looks like there should be some stiffening ribs in the cowl (shown in red below). They don't show up when I slice the model.

I also get an error when the stl loads. (it looks like the same ribs/supports i am talking about above.) I must be doing something wrong.

Chris those Fuselage pieces there are both upside down from the way i print them. There should be bottom layers. I believe 2 of them. This gives a flange of support at the start of most sections. I forgot what option to select for the ribs I'll check when I get home but it's in the special printing modes and prints surfaces as well.

Chris the setting for printing the surfaces is under special modes and is surface mode: both.

One weird thing you need to do for the 1st two layers is create a modifying block. Insert an 'eraser' change the height to 0.4mm and make it as wide as the part your printing than move it to the bottom of the print volume. Change mesh type to modify settings for overlaps then in here you change to 2 bottom layers this makes the flange I was talking about otherwise it fills in the bottom layers incorrectly. I attached a .3mf file so you can see what I mean.

If you'd like I can post the Gcode as well, just need to pull it all together.

Thanks, that makes sense. is the area where the arrow is pointing below supposed to be open?
