A fun and interesting Project

I believe the video slide show speaks for itself. My lovely lady, Patricia, wanted a white mailbox. A plane seemed a good idea since our favorite summer destination is flitefest. If you ever have a desire to build something like this get yourself a big bottle of waterproof glue (I used Titebond III) and have a lot of patience, It took me at least 2 weeks to build this one. Waiting on glue to set and paint to dry took a lot of the time. The round top is made of 10 strips 1 1/2 inch wide with a 10 degree angle cut on both sides. I could have sanded it perfectly round but I like the look of ribs. Sort of like a real antique plane. All the wood is 3/4 inch #2 grade pine.

If you have any questions do leave me a comment and I will do my best to answer.

Thanks,
David...
