I got up today and the sun was peeking through the clouds. Great day for my long awaited first flight/expected crash.
So off to the fields i go with my scratch built Stoch and F-22 along with a 23" tv for FPV witch was the first fail my power inverter did'nt have enough power to run the really old 32"tv. Second fail forgot rubber bands for wing on stoch guess ill have to start with the F-22/noob lawn dart. It did three impressive dives into the ground the last one i managed to keep it in the air for about 150 yards it was barley flying fast enough to stay in the air and had no roll authority.

lesson one foam board weight both of these planes were made with foam board from Walmart not Dollar Tree.
Walmart=2$for 218g but very strong after three dirt/snow/mud bath's F-22 barely scratched
Dollar Tree=1$for 113g

lesson two thrust vs weight vs lift. after doing some homework i found both my planes to be over weight and under powered i had two motors to choose from a park370 and A2212/13t from amazon. I tested these with differnt props and ended up with the 370 on the f-22 with a 9x5 prop about 650g of thrust and the 2212 on the stoch with a 10x4.5 prop about 980g thrust. I spent all that time setting up a dangerous test rig to not do a final weight check oops.
f-22 total weight 681g with 650g of thrust
Stoch total weight 1257g with 980g of thrust

Question one i'm still not sure how much thrust i should need for these planes but im sure i need more POWER SCOTTY!!

Question two what would be a good build for these motors
