I don't know about y'all but as a family man I do consider the impact my hobby has on the family. I tell myself that if I just had such and such planes I would be good to go. Am I the only one who has an R/C dream team?

If you were to limit yourself to some number of aircraft what would that number be and which aircraft would make the cut? How close are you to assembling these aces?

I'll start.

I'm going to go with a dynamic dozen (more or less) for my special squadron.

What I want is:
1. Battle Wing (air domination, top secret build)
2. F-14 Tomcat (cool EDF)
3. F-4U Corsair (classic WWII)
4. P-3 Orion (reminiscent of my USN days)
5. PA-14 Family Cruiser (tribute)
6. 2S H-60 (token heli)
7. Tricopter (for madmen)
8. Gremlin (versatile multirotor)
9. Hawk Trainer (FT Explorer-like but painted tp look like a bird)
10. PT-17 (biplane)
11. RocHobby V-Tail
11. PBY Catalina (floatplane)
12. Excalibur (V-tail sailplane) (disappointed, planning a DIY to take its place)

What I have is:
BN Versa(y)(y)(scrapping fir new build)
RocHobby V-Tail(y)(y)(y)(I like this one a lot)
Excalibur (y)(disappointed, planning a DIY)
Adagio(y)(y)(y)(new owner)
Zephyr V7 (y) (need more stick time)
UMX F-4F Wildcat (y) (has power but no glide, 2S flying is underrated)
UMX T-28 Trojan (y)
UMX Timber (y)(y)(y)(versatile
UMX Radian(y)(y)(new owner)
mSRX(y)
Tricopter(y)(y) (Still developing)
NanoQX2 (y)(y) (fun but kinda fragile and I feel cheated
Inductrix (new owner)

Updated 7/27/18 I've updated my list above with color codes indicating additions and deletions, a ranking scale, and links to owners threads.
(n) = Opposite of fun
(y) = Ok
(y)(y) = Recommendable
(y)(y)(y) = A favorite
(y)(y)(y)(y) = I carry a photo of it in my wallet

PsyBorg

Wake up! Time to fly!
I am in the same mind set as you on most of my dream hangar.

These providing they come with someone to lug the gear around for me so I would still be able to actually fly them once at the field.

F-14 Tomcat edf or turbine painted with the Jolly Rogers scheme as they were on Nimitz when I first saw a full dressed F-14.
F-4U Corsair That was always one of my most favorite planes.
T-38 Shooting star as I saw them more then a few times over head as a kid. Turbine as edf just would not do it justice
Horten Wing edf or turbine
A-10 Thunderbolt edf or turbine

Scale helis I want:
Ah-64 Longbow Turbine
Ah-1 Huey Cobra Turbine
Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane Turbine

These because I DON'T have somebody to lug the gear around for me hehe.

Race quads any Frankenbeast that flys in the 100+ mph range. (Now have Taz as my hopeful to full fill this dream with)

What I actually have..

Walkera Runner 250
Flite Test Versa Copter
Rotor Riot Alien 5 inch
Flite test Gremlin

Dynam Pitts biplane
Flite Test Bloody Baron
and a Rockyboy Caudron 460 in the build stage

I pretty much have my dream team right now, except for the giant scale Zero. To be honest I probably have too many as it is, so many are in need of repair or just not flown at all...

Nano QX - never flown anymore
Nano QX2 FPV - never flown anymore
Inductrix FPV - flown in the winter, retired for summer
Versacopter - functional, but desperately in need of a tune
Eachine Wizard - daily driver
FT210 - still needs work
RCEx Mini-Tri - needs a new FC/rebuild
Creampuff - maiden tomorrow, hopefully new daily driver
Chroma - never flown anymore

FT Explorer - never flown anymore
FT Storch - broken
Flyzone Beaver - needs repair, have parts
Parkzone Sukhoi - current favorite fixed wing
Flyzone Calypso - love it, fly it a lot
Hangar 9 Cub - needs some repair, still intimidated by it and it never ran right
TBRC Apex - still in the box
FMS Zero - still in the box
Sig 4-Star 120 - kit still in the box

Damn that's a ridiculous list...

I hope I get to check of these things as an adult. Here goes:D:

-3D Hobby Shop 118” Extra 330LT
-VQ Warbirds 100”ish P-61 Black Widow
-CARF Models F4U-1D Corsair w/ Folding Wings
-Hangar 9 15cc Carbon Cub
-Hangar 9 Super Decathlon
-Dedicated 3D Night Flyer
-Balsa PBY Catalina, and a BIG one!
-PT-17 Stearman
-A 747 Jet with Turbines, just because I ran out of ideas!

Now, what I have:

-A Carbon Z Cub (please take it, $300 all yours)
-An Alien RR5
-An FT Arrow
-A whole lot of nothing

As you can see, I can’t wait to get a job. I might need scratch the “get married” part off my list with a Dream Hangar as big as mine!

Hmm... my hanger has the following categories filled now;

pylon racer: Caudron C.460 x2
race wings: Arrow and FPVWRA Spec Wing
night flyer: Eluminator wing
combat foamies: Das Little Stick & Baby Baron & Baby Brit
biplane: Hyperbipe
balsa sport planes: EVA Sport & Ugly Stick
3D plane: Enigma
float plane: Mini Drake 2
race quad: Wizard
indoor quad: Inductrix FPV
a handful of little indoor balsa planes: about 6 on the wall I think, which might be a little overkill, but they're like potato chips ;) I've got about 3 more indoor kits too.

I've got plans and kits to fill out these categories;

a canard: Tiny Trainer conversion still needs debugging
a really really fast balsa wing: Cuda kit to assemble
a big balsa floater: FREDe kit to assemble
a cartoonish silly plane: NuB2 kit to assemble - going w/ a P-40 Flying Tiger look
a golden age balsa bird: Retro eMoth kit to assemble
a big golden age racer: have a 60" Gee Bee R3 fuselage, plans, and a pile of sticks
a glider: picking up a Spinster DLG at FF, and have a balsa 1.5 meter to restore
a 2s micro quad: Gremlin kit to assemble

I also want to get the bugs worked out of the Caudron C.460 golden age racer design and then start designing a fantasy bipe drawn by the same Italian designer who did the Gee Bee R3 concept.

But I also have about 8 other plane kits (foam and balsa), a pile of balsa sticks and some rolled plans, and a whole lot of bookmarked DTFB designs that I'm really looking forward to working on. My list of planes to build is a good bit longer than the completed ones, and has been every since I got back into the hobby.

But I don't know that I want to keep a plane in all of these categories - getting something to fly for a season, enjoying it at the field 3 or 4 times, and then letting it move on to a new home is just fine by me.

For me the dream is less about what's in the hanger right now, or having any specific planes, and more about having a workbench of building projects and regular swap meets where I can sell off a couple airframes every spring and fall. :)

Let's just say you'll get there faster than you would think.. The challenge is storage. Speaking of which, if there is anyone in the DFW area who wants one, the Cirrus is free to a good home. Need the space for future projects.

Most of you are making me feel much more at ease with the amount of planes I have and want. I thank you, but my wife, I don't think she thanks you so much.:black_eyed:

Im not, but would gladly pay shipping;). Also, I believe NerdNic lives in Austin, but 195 miles is a bit of a drive!

I'd love to ship it, but it has a one-piece 55" wing, so shipping would be outrageous, and UPS would most likely break it. I'll post it in the classifieds and see if I get any interest.

@F106DeltaDart, looking at your list it seems you have more there than in that vast closet collection you showed a few months back. Yes? Are you keeping more than you're showing. My real curiosity is how could you possibly store them all.
