On another note has anyone ever given leading edge slats a try? I'm gathering ideas for a bush plane project to compete with @Mr.Kitfox
First off, I've never personally tried slats but I've heard they help the plane fly at slower speeds, and they're know fir decreasing aerobatic ability. @BATTLEAXE is the one with the kitfox, not me lol.

Slats are great for getting super slow and staying stable at slow speeds, but they greatly decrease roll rate and make the plane look worse. I think VG's are the way to go. They look cool, and are easy to install. One thing you can do is put VG's on the underside of the hstab, right in front of the elevator hinge. That helps retain elevator authority for STOL landings.

Your name was biggest on the plans so I got confused lol

I've only ever seen 3d printed VGs, has anyone done them another way? I'm a little limited in what I can do with this heat but I might give them a go.

Here's what I'm working on:

You could laminate a few layers of posterboard together to trim out some triangles and sink them into the LE of the wing. Nice choice of bush plane btw

That's not a bad idea, I could probably use popsicle sticks too. For now I'm just trying to get the proportions right, I cut out the fuselage based on a 3-view I had but the windscreen looks really short for some reason. Once I get the wing on it should look fine.
