Anybody else scratch building tonight?

I'm liking bolt-on nacelles. I know it's cheating a bit with 3d printing, but when you are in a hurry... And the shape looks just right.

First time mocked up on wheels. Next, the dreaded cockpits. Lots to do before good weather on Thursday for maiden.

Managed to fit a big 3200mah 3S in the nose. Motors are 3530 1100kv, and the 3blade shown (sweet looks) is a 9"x7.5, pull very hard, but motors got hot. Even with a 2blade 9x6s it still got hot. 50a ESCs running cool behind the motor, and NACA cowls vent well, so getting good circulation around motor, but only static run ups so far. Maybe a 2 blade 9x5? I thought that low kV would handle slow rotation with higher pitch?

Looks great. I never had a problem with a 3530 getting hot with a 3 blade. Ill have to check what I was running. It was on the front of my F6F though. It may do different in flight.

I am starting the dazzle camo on my 130% Goblin. Going to do the bottom in the zinc oxide looking ship waterline stuff and put a white 55 on iy in honor of BB55, the only battleship I have been aboard.

It is a little tail heavy, probably more motor than it needs, would have been fine on a F pack.

It will be running a 2210 1500kv spinning a 8x6. Cooling wont be an issue. I am using sponz well ventilated firewall and has a nice scoop (which I should have painted before hand) directing air there and a 40a esc.

I ran a 9x5x3 (just checked) on one of those no issue. It was on the front of my F6F. I also ran 9x6 and 10x4.5. This is the motor and prop. 3530 1100kv.

BTW 3d printing isnt cheating. The balsa guys that hate on our planes use vacuum formed and fiberglass parts like that.

Been saving these detail pics so let's share them.
Managed to get maximum internal access.
Two magnets for the hatch.
Two tail servos will need to be mounted in the fuselage sides.
CA seems to do awesome for the cardstock work.
It would be really nice to blend the rear turtle deck into the tail better, but I kept it simple for ease of build. No need to make myself more crazy than I already am. :D

I was going to do this without any paint at all. On a whim I put that black on the wings. Right now I'm not sure if I want to get into it further - let's see how it flies first. :)
Oh I see what you mean! It did occur to me to extend that, about half as far as you took it. Just for now I don't feel like babying this too much. It needs to try flying. :D

Thanks. Have it on order now. Might take out the right offset, and run CCW and CW prop set.

So I started this project months ago based on the Ultrix 800mm I think. The plan was to use some brushed motors I had from a drone I used to have but that turned out to be a few more $$ than I was willing to put into it for ESC's. It looks a little strange in the pic as the wing is supposed to go through the fuse , not sit on the bottom like that. If anyone would like to take this on and bring it to completion just let me know and I will send you what I have for parts. @SSgt Duramax , this might be a project for you.
